This paper presents an approach to combine the World Wide Web and
database systems in a way that all of the Web based resources are
stored and managed by the database system. Access to the information
located in the database system is based on an URL notation which
will be described in detail. Additionally, the database system is
used to store all of the necessary information that is used to
overcome the most serious limitations of the World Wide Web like
existence of the "lost in hyperspace" syndrome, invalid
links as well as the limited search facilities.
